The new committee of the Association was elected on 14th June 2008. There are a few of the old faces who help the community acheive its present status and plenty of new blood, who together hope to take the Association forward and achieve even more for La Torre.

The EGM held on Saturday 14th June 2008 went well. Stuart Garland the chairman led the meeting with great flair and some significant changes were brought about.
The Association changes its name. It is now all inclusive, so members do not have to be an owner to join. We are now La Torre Owners and Residents Association.
The new Chairwoman is Helga Dessauer with a most able Secretary Vera Stringer. In fact there are quite a number of new faces on the committee. So expect some action.
Keep an eye on the site diary for upcoming new events. We already have dance evenings every Friday at Valle del Sol starting and much more is in the pipeline.
All the details will appear with the minutes of the EGM and I have the task of updating the website to match the changes - this is going to take quite a few days.

Will you help give something back to those who have served their country?

David Hamilton, community president for Castañar, is coordinating an appeal for owners to donate weeks in their properties on the resort. With many properties left unoccupied during parts of the year it is such a shame to waste this resource.
Why not recognise those who really deserve a token of our appreciation and give them a chance to enjoy some of what you have been fortunate to have.

We have reviewed the results from the On Line Poll about what you want on the site and looking at what Helga is organising for the social events, we thought it was time to add a site diary. This will hopefully be the place where you can see what is going on in and around the resort and help you make the most of however much ime you spend at La Torre.
We are looking for help from you though.
We want you to let us know what you are organising. It may be some beginners Spanish Lessons or you can offer some Golf Lessons. Perhaps you want to find some like minded people to come to your line dancing or Flamenco classes. You might be planning a car boot sale or start a Yoga class or Bridge Club. Let us know what it is, the location, date, time and a contact and we will put it in the diary.
Send us details of your event using the contact us page.

Not only will the weather be hotting up at La Torre as the summer months unfold but so will the social scene. Anyone who has downloaded the Secretary's report from Helga Dessauer cannot but notice the plans for the social side of the resort. And they look really good to say the least.
Helga and her team really have their fingers on the pulse, as life is breathed into the sleepy streets of La Torre turning them into a hive of activity.
As Helga says in her report the first enrolments of Spanish for Beginners and Advanced level have already begun. Bridge, yoga and bocca are in demand. Wine tasting and dancing also seems to be popular. As well as this beginners' golf is needed.
As well as this several different dance classes are planned.
Stay tuned for as soon as more details come out we will post them here.

If there are any of you out there who would like to be a news contributor please contact the site.
Newshound has gone on his travels for the summer and so there are vacancies for anyone interested in sending in news items. It does not matter what it is - if it is of interest to you then someone else will also find it interesting.
With many of the negotiations that preceeded the AGM's being very sensitve, not as much as we would have liked was released to members. Well now is the time to make up for this so let's hear what you know about La Torre and the surrounding area. .
Maybe you run a social group or would like to start one up. Perhaps you are organising a trip and want to let people know. Could be you've discovered something that you think is worth mentioning. Now is your chance to let people know. So whether it is a single item or a regular contribution the website is all ears. Don't worry if it isn't written perfectly we can cope. If you have photographs all the better. We would love to hear from anyone who has something to say.
If you have any social events or clubs – or just about anything please contact the website through the contact form on the contact page. We will endeavour to make space for you and give you the opportunity to advertise what you are doing. The website team will not be putting any restrictions on what you can send in as long as it is decent

This is the home of La Torre Owners and Residents' Association. It has been set up both for owners on the Polaris World Golf Resort of La Torre, situated in Murcia, southern Spain and for anyone else who is interested in this beautiful part of Spain.
Those who become members of the Owners and Residents' Association will have access to a registered users' area on the site. Here they can find information about what their committee is doing on their behalf, as well as it giving them the opportunity to keep in touch with other members.
Each week features will also be added to the public area of the site, to inform, educate, entertain and help both members of the Owners and Residents' Association and those who simply have an interest in the Region of Murcia on the Costa Calida, Spain.
I hope you will enjoy the site and look forward to you visiting us.
